NEW PROGRAM! Financial Literacy at your Fingertips! GSMWVC is teaming
up with Junior Achievement® to offer an exciting new financial literacy opportunity.
JA is the world’
largest organization dedicated to educating young people about business, economics, and free enterprise and strives to “inspire
kids to achieve at the business of life though community-based partnerships.” Towards this goal, JA delivers age-appropriate
curricula focusing on three pillars of student success: entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and work readiness.
Through GSMWVC’s collaboration with JA, troop leaders, volunteers, and parents
will have access to the full array of JA’s programs. Click here for more information about the available programs and their target age-levels.
All adults – troop
leaders, volunteers and parents who registered prior to April 24, 2008 – are invited to an hour-long introductory
session (May 13, 2008 7:00 p.m.) at the end of which all participants will receive the materials needed to provide the
program for their troops. The JA program can then be run at the troop’s convenience, either in
one session or by spreading out the activities across several weeks.
