:: Frequently Asked Questions
Who are Girl Scouts?
Girl Scouting
is for every girl, ages 5-17. The only requirement is that they accept the Girl Scout Promise and Law. Adult Girl Scouts are volunteers, women and men at least 18 years old, who work with girls or adults to bring the Girl Scout Program to all girls.
What does it cost?
Girls and adults may join Girl Scouts by paying a $10 annual membership fee. The fee includes the cost of insurance during Girl Scout activities. Troops set their own troop dues for supplies and
activities. Financial aid is available so that no girl is denied the opportunity of being a Girl Scout.
How can I
volunteer?
If you have a skill, a spark, or just a dream of helping girls grow strong, there is a place for
your volunteer spirit in Girl Scouting. Whether you have a lot of time to give or just a little, you can make a difference in the lives
of girls.
How do I find out if there is a troop in my daughter's school that she can join?

dedicated solely to girls. Uniform components are available through the Council Shop and the GSUSA catalog.
How old does my daughter have to be to join Girl Scouts?
She can be a Daisy Girl Scout when she is 5 years old and in pre-kindergarten.
Can men be leaders?
Yes. The requirements for leadership in a troop are: two or more adults (minimum 1 female) with one adult designated as the leader.
