Frequently Asked Questions
Why do we pay Membership Registration Fees each year? The annual
Girl Scouts of the USA membership registration fee is paid directly to GSUSA through our council.
These
dues help to underwrite national program efforts, development of Girl Scout Handbooks and materials, accident insurance for
all current members who participate in Girl Scout activities, the Girl Scout Leader magazine, and administrative support to
councils.
What kind of financial aid does the council provide? Girl Scouts - Mt. Wilson Vista
Council provides financial aid to girls whose families cannot afford the costs of membership registration, camping, program
events and other needs.
Community-based programs, grants and camperships for girls in need or in underserved areas
of the council help ensure that Girl Scouting is available for all girls, regardless of a family's financial limitations.
The rich diversity of Girl Scouting is a tribute to constant efforts to eliminate any barriers to Girl Scout membership.
Girls can receive one campership and one grant per year. (Oct. 1- Sept. 30).
